Tenant Rights & Safety Statement
Public information, accountability standards, legal disclosures, and controlled administrative policy.
Purpose
CLAA supports the right of residential and commercial tenants to document property conditions, preserve evidence, communicate concerns, and seek qualified agency, inspector, legal, or professional review.
Safety First
CLAA is not an emergency service. A person facing an immediate threat to life, fire, active violence, medical emergency, suspected gas leak, structural collapse, or other urgent danger should contact the appropriate emergency or public-safety service.
Documentation
Tenants may preserve photographs, videos, dates, repair requests, inspection records, communications, incident reports, witness information, and other relevant materials when it is safe and lawful to do so.
Non-Retaliation Principle
CLAA opposes retaliation against complainants, occupants, residential tenants, commercial tenants, and authorized representatives for good-faith reporting or participation in an accountability process.
Privacy
Tenant-identifying information and confidential evidence should not be made public merely because a complaint exists. CLAA applies separate controls for case records and approved public accountability materials.
Residential and Commercial Differences
Residential and commercial tenancies may be governed by different laws, lease terms, agencies, and remedies. CLAA organizes the factual property record but does not provide legal interpretation or representation unless separately established in writing.
No Guaranteed Outcome
CLAA cannot guarantee repairs, inspections, citations, agency action, litigation, settlement, financial recovery, or another specific outcome. CLAA’s commitment is disciplined documentation, controlled accountability, and traceable referral history.
